Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 Review: An Excellent Smartwatch, Weakened by a Major Flaw
Retaining the classic approach of its ancestors, Samsung's Galaxy Watch 7 is an affordable (and less sporty) alternative to the Galaxy Watch Ultra. We tested this new smartwatch for several days. Now it's time for the verdict!

Of course, Wear OS powers everything, for maximum versatility. However, there is still a major flaw: battery life... We'll tell you more about it throughout this review of the Galaxy Watch 7 smartwatch!

As always, Samsung leaves the choice of connectivity: Bluetooth only or Bluetooth + 4G via eSIM. For this test, we got our hands on the smallest format in its Bluetooth version with a silver case and cream strap, displayed at the official price of 319 euros.

This model is available in green or cream, where the big brother offers green or silver. In both cases, you will have a very sober smartwatch on your wrist, which is slightly thicker than last year.

The body is made of aluminum (titanium being reserved for the Ultra) and the screen is made of sapphire crystal. The beauty should therefore withstand the harshest conditions, knowing that it benefits from IP68 and MIL-STD-810H certification.
Keep in mind that this is not a diver. The Galaxy Watch 7 is only resistant to 5 ATM, or the water of the swimming pool or the sea on the surface.
Like last year, the strap can be changed very easily, with a simple click. This connected watch can even receive third-party straps, with a width of 20 mm.
The original strap, cream-colored, is made of plastic. It is now decorated with "wavelets" that provide better grip on the wrist during sports sessions.
Buttons
No major changes to the side buttons either. These adorn the right edge, surrounding the microphone for hands-free calls. As always, it is possible to customize them to adapt the features to your needs.

From sending SMS messages to listening to music, to navigating on Maps, the Galaxy Watch 7 is able to accomplish many tasks. The Exynos W1000 SoC engraved in 3 nm ensures excellent performance. The interface responds to the finger and the eye, without ever slowing down.
Samsung's new Bluetooth watch is without a doubt the best currently available under Wear OS. This is even more true for users of the brand, who will benefit from excellent integration into the Samsung ecosystem.
Mobile application: Samsung is spreading itself thin...
Unlike Huawei, Garmin and many other competitors, Samsung has chosen to use several mobile applications for its Galaxy Watch 7.
The first, Galaxy Wearable, is essential for configuring the watch. You will also need to download an additional plug-in, called Galaxy Watch7 Manager, weighing several hundred MB.
The second, Samsung Health, is intended for sports and health monitoring, with the many related metrics. And that's not all!
Indeed, Samsung smartphone users will have to download Health Monitor if they want to take an ECG or blood pressure measurement. If, like us, you go through another brand, you will not have access to these two metrics.
It should also be noted that the Galaxy Watch 7 is completely incompatible with iOS. Once this large package of applications is installed (which takes a considerable amount of time), you will finally be able to enjoy your high-tech watch!
Galaxy Wearable has a wide range of options to fine-tune each part of the Bluetooth connected watch. Dials, fonts, maps, shortcuts: Wear OS gives you total control.
